Corridor
Who am I? Who do I want to be? Where am I going?
The answers to these questions, however different for everyone, are determined by the context in which we live. In today's Western world, the pressure is high to be successful, happy and authentic. Except: 'identity', a concept that is often so easily mentioned, is not unambiguous. Identity consists of many different elements that move with what we do, where we are (and with whom), how we dress, and much more. Those elements are sometimes at odds with themselves and often cannot be separated from the perceived view of another.
On the outside, I am a timid person, unsure about what I want and who I am. But trapped inside me are other women, bolder women than me, seductive women, women who know who they are and where they are going. But I struggle to hear their voices. In the short film Corridor, I search for them, hoping they lead me into a more adventurous life. Using a variety of elements from theatre and cinema, the film depicts the struggle with identity and meaning in a mysterious, anonymous world.
